Our Team

Louise Pencavel

Louise has produced several programs and series at the Midpen Media Center.  Most recently she ran Professional Services, the production company that produces professional videos in support of the Midpen Media Center’s non-profit activities.  She also created and hosted the annual Local Hero Awards, a series of interviews with six people from the Midpeninsula who were honored for their inspirational stories and contributions to the communities.  She has produced, hosted, written, filmed and edited television in the Bay Area for over 25 years.  Productions have included news, documentaries and children’s programs for KPIX, KRON and KGO in San Francisco and three nationally televised documentaries for PBS.  She received a BA cum laude in drama from Vassar and an MA in Communications from Stanford.

Stan Ng

Stan Ng has contributed to hundreds of productions in film, video, and television. He has production experience as a camera operator, lighting technician, and location sound engineer; and postproduction experience as a video editor and sound designer. A retired digital electronics engineer, Stan has an extensive network of local video producers , and organizations such as the Midpen Media Center; the Bay Area Video Coalition; and with the independent film incubator, Scary Cow. A retired engineer, he likes to bring technical polish to the art of storytelling.

Doug Kreitz

Doug Kreitz is an award-winning video producer for independent films and short videos.  He also has had a long and accomplished career as a professional photographer, specializing in portraiture, weddings, and commercial assignments.  His photos have been exhibited and recognized locally and in various publications.  He teaches both photography and video production skills.  His work and teaching have taken him to Stanford University Medical Development, Saint Mary’s College of California, The Palo Alto History Museum, Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo, Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters, Bay Area Cancer Connections, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and many more. 

David Simon

David Simon has been a video director, producer, and editor for the last decade.  He produced and directed numerous television episodes at the Midpen Media Center – on subjects including cooking, politics, theater, dance, art — and worked there as an instructor, helping students with skills in video and television production and video editing.  Films he has edited have shown at various film festivals, including the United Nations Association Film Festival.  Earlier, he developed software for network communications, printers, scientific equipment, and similar products.

Cathy Keys

Cathy Keys has nearly two decades of media experience in both field and studio production. Her passion for filmmaking led her to the United Nations Association Film Festival (UNAFF) where she served as Operations Director, overseeing marketing and publicity. At Midpen Media Center’s TV studio, she crewed hundreds of shows and co-produced UNAFF’s award-nominated series. In a previous life, she honed management skills in high tech, business, and finance as Director with Oracle and a VP with Wells Fargo Bank.
